This superset of the original Adventure was first released in March 2003. It incorporates my Adv660 expansion of the game. See Adv770 FAQ (06 July 2025) for answers to some questions about the game. (I said a FAQ! – not a walkthrough or a hint sheet.) There is also a separate bug list (26 July 2026), which lists known bugs and records their fixing. Play it nowYou can play Adv770 right now, either on a cloud server or, if you are using a robust modern browser, on your local machine (1.9 MB).The local version runs with no further network access – games are saved in your browser's local storage space. You can save the page locally too, and later just point the same browser at the saved html file to continue playing. The current A-code version, used to construct all builds on offer, automatically gives the game a persistent state. This means that if the game is interrupted in whatever way, on restarting it will automatically restart at the point of interruption, unless a new game is explicitly requested. Pre-built versionsPure HTML/JavascriptLinux Intel/AMD 64 and 32 bit Linux Arm 64 and 32 bit Windows Intel/AMD 64 and 32 bit DOS for Intel/AMD emulators I can no longer provide a native macOS build, though HTML/JS is obviously available to Apple users. Anybody interested in an iOS build, please contact Brian Ball at [email protected]. Game sourcesA-code source of Adv770 can be found in the gzipped tarball adv770-2.33-src.tgz (2.2 MB), or equivalently in the zipfile adv770-2.33-src.zip (3.5 MB). Both packages also contain sources of the acdc A-code to C translator and of the A-code kernel, used in building executables offered by this page. They also contain game's C-soures, already converted frome the A-code source by the acdc translator and combined with the required kernel sources, ready to be compiled and linked with any ANSI C compiler. Full A-code documentation (version 0.9) and other potentially useful bits and bobs are also included. |
