Downloaded from http://www.hp9845.net/9845/software/games/ Direct link: http://www.hp9845.net/9845/downloads/hpi/9845-adventure-hpi.zip The Hewlett Packard 9845 was a workstation computer intended for engineers and scientists introduced in 1976 and sold through at least 1980. I have been unable to locate an emulator for it. The .hpi image is intended for use as a disk image used in conjunction with HPDrive, which uses a hardware interface to connect a 9845 to a Windows computer so that the Windows computer could be used as a mass storage device. The .hpi image resides on the Windows machine, and is accessed as a virtual floppy drive via the hardware interface using the HPDrive software. HPDrive (currently, v. 4.0 beta7 for Win 9x/ME/NT/2000/XP/Vista may be downloaded from http://www.hp9845.net/9845/projects/hpdrive/#downloads, together with necessary Windows drivers. It requires an ISA-based GPIB interface board and a real, working HP 9845 computer. Much more information is available at http://www.hp9845.net/9845/projects/hpdrive/ According to the HP9845 Project site ( http://www.hp9845.net/9845/software/games/ ) this version of Adventure "probably comes from a BASIC port originally distributed by L. W. James and Associates for the 9845 series." Nothing further on ancestry is available.
